In the rapidly evolving world of electronics manufacturing, I like to think I bring passion, expertise, and dedication to the table. I’ve weathered the storm of the global pandemic but also, I believe, have identified and addressed a critical gap in the market.

Recently I’ve been pleased to discover I’ve been nominated for two categories in the 2023 Electronics Industry Awards: Rising Star and Best Customer Service.

So why should you vote for me?

1. Navigating Challenges with Unyielding Enthusiasm

In February 2020, I established Marq-One, driven by my extensive experience spanning two decades in electronics and operational leadership across industries such as aerospace, automotive, and defence. Despite launching the business just before the pandemic struck (great timing!), I refused to let external circumstances dampen my enthusiasm!

2. Bridging the Gap: Solving the Root of Operational Challenges

During my career, I noticed a recurring problem faced by operational leaders — while training courses and trainers were available to develop teams, they often fell short in solving the underlying issues faced by companies. Common challenges included the complexity of compliance requirements and the lack of systems to assess core competence. I realised training alone could not guarantee compliance; competency was equally crucial.

3. Tailored Solutions for Improved Efficiency

I decided to tackle these challenges head-on. Using my IPC qualifications and my hands-on engineering experience, I combined expertise, pragmatism, and leadership skills to identify and solve problems others might have overlooked. I developed focused training programs targeting specific areas for improvement, conducted comprehensive systems and core competency analyses, and aligned with internationally recognized IPC standards.

4. Cost-Efficiency and Minimised Disruption

So far good, but not unique, there were still issues to be resolved.

I recognised the difficulties faced by companies in sending team members off-site for training, so decided to bring high-quality electronics training directly to the manufacturing companies themselves. By delivering training onsite, I could ensure familiarity with the operating environment and equipment, maximize cost efficiency and reduce disruption. This approach proved invaluable, particularly during challenging times when businesses were already grappling with supply chain issues and rising costs.

5. Impact and Success

While not one to blow my own trumpet, the impact can been seen in my clients’ results. . By addressing compliance and competency gaps, I’ve saved my clients approximately £1.7 million to date, while training close to 400 individuals. My programs have not only reduced rework, repair, and scrap costs but have also improved the overall quality of products, safeguarding my clients’ reputation and bottom line.

It’s been a pretty exciting journey for me so far and I would not have made it to this stage without the support, trust and confidence of so many people.

Just being nominated is a huge honour, however if you have worked with me, been trained by me, or feel what I have contributed so far is noteworthy, a vote would mean so much – simply click the button below…

Thank you

Mark
